Lakeshore Cottage Inhabitants

The windows shook with such vivacity that it was hard not to interpret this as a tenacious assault being carried out by the wind whose uncordial cries were not unlike those of fighting dogs, so much so that it was difficult for the inhabitants of Lakeshore Cottage to discern knowing one sound from the other. Each of the three inhabitants consistently took turns glancing up from their novels to address their disconcerting, peaking curiosity. Even in brief moments of refuge, where but turning pages echoed, would arise intermittent obstruction by the crashing waves of the heater attempting to keep its human counterparts in suitable conditions. What time passed was not marked by seconds, but by the constant shifting and scratching that marked the room's pellucid discomposure.

Each of the inhabitants of Lakeshore Cottage existed in their abrasive temporal space with no great ease, and much could be said by how each read their selected novels. Not one moved like the other, each distinctively stalking the words of their pages like  predators in a tundra, whose harsh climate wreaked havoc impartially on both predator and prey.

The quick, agile flicks of the pages of inhabitant 1--characteristic of one who is vehemently engaged with a story, yet has not quite yet arrived to climax--was more background noise than bother. 1 picks unconsciously at their pant leg, itching for words to come with more haste from the page to the mind. If the novel were anything but pop fiction, it could be said that the inhabitant possessed an unquenchable desire for knowledge--but alas, it could not be true, for simply looking at the title of the book one would identify the desire for an escape from such worldly, wordy literature.

Inhabitant 2's soft giggles overtly portrayed their self-conscious demeanor as someone who does not wish to draw attention away from another's tasks--specifically, draw attention away to themself--quite kind and considerate, no? These giggles were of course paired with unrelenting shifts in posture, consequent of a person who is uncomfortable in all situations and places--even at home.

Inhabitant 3 who shifted constantly from book to phone to wine to book again desperately requires an immediate escape but from what exactly they could not tell you. 3's mouth pulls at the right, forming either smiles or signs of discontent--both characteristic of one who has spent too much time thumbing through novels and not enough outdoors--satisfied with life yet unfulfilled. Their forehead began to gain permanent furrows upon the brow quite unconsequential of a person so young and (purportedly) amused.

Each reader takes turns glancing up from their individual works to check up upon what the other inhabitants are doing, like small children, hoping to be noticed by another without being too transparent. Exhaustion sets in, and each readers sighs--lightly, heavily, quickly, slowly--all but adding to the spatial zephyr with their own forms of wind.

Balzac et un place

Qu'est-ce qu'un place dans le roman? Il y a toujours un autre place d'aller où les personnes prouvent être meilleurs. Par exemple, le premier instance de mouvement quand Charles se déplace. Et ici, quand Charles quitte le village pour acquirer des riches (possiblement d'Indes). Est-ce que le autre espace meilleur d'ici?

Eugenie pg 180

Qu'est-ce que le rôle de la famille? Il y a un absence de faire confiance et beaucoup de le peur et la jalousie. Ce famille, sont-ils la vrai? Où est l'honte?

Eugenie 1-122

Je voudrais analyser le concept du réel avec ce roman. Pour instance, nous lisons les premiers pages du roman, nous trouve qu'il y ait des grandes descriptions et, possible, une tentative de la voix vraisemblable. Le cours s'appelle "French Novel Before Realism" et je voudrais analyser: qu'est-ce qui define? Comment nous approchons les descriptions, le vue des personnages et du narrateur, sans le vraisemblable? Plus encore de les narrateurs precedents, comment nous lisons le texte à travers leurs yeux? Pour moi, le narrateur acte comme moi, regarde pour moi. Les grands descriptions fonctionnent me placer dans le scene, puis je ne questionne jamais les actions (par maintenant). Qu'est-ce qui se présente, je crois. C'est vrai?

La Fin de Laclos

La fin du roman, est-ce qu'elle nous surprend? Je voudrais analyser le caracteur de Danceny. Qui est Danceny dans le roman? Qu'est-ce qui sa fidelité? et Qu'est-ce qui son objective dans le roman? Comment nous comprenons le change de Danceny dans la fin?

Laclos Lettres 138-153

Qu'est-ce que la relation entre les caracteurs et le dieu? Quand la Presidente s'habille dans un convent, est-ce qu'elle trouve un source de reconfort? Ou abandonne-t-elle son agence? Est-ce qu'une dichotomie de l'amour de humaine et l'amour de dieu?

Laclos Lettres 107-138

Comment est la sexe utilise dans le roman? La sexe est comme une commodité--obtenir l'agence et le pouvoir--qui échange entre les personnes. Mais, il y a un difference entre l'amour de Cecile et l'amour de Merteuil. Les amours différents, sont-ils les definitions incompatibles? Sommes-nous d'accord avec les difference entre les hommes et les femmes de Madame de Rosemonde (lettre lettre 130)?
